Construction Begins on EBRC Light Rail Extension
04/29/2024

Have you noticed the signs on Capitol Expressway? Light rail construction is beginning!

This means changes to Capitol Expressway between Capitol Avenue and Quimby Road.

We anticipate work to begin later this week with tree trimming and removal in some areas, and then construction work will ramp up towards the end of May/early June.

It takes a significant amount of space to build light rail tracks. We apologize that this may impact traffic on Capitol Expressway with reduced lanes and reduced speed.

Construction activities are noisy. There will be large pieces of equipment that cause vibrations felt by people that live or work along the corridor.

If you live or work on or near Capitol Expressway, or drive on Capitol Expressway, we hope you will join us to learn and prepare for upcoming construction activities.

Please attend any of our community meetings listed below for a project update. The same presentation will be provided at each event, in multiple languages. You will meet the project team and the contractor. We will share details of construction activities, and more.
